We’re in full-on Mermaid obsession over here.

After the wild success of the Mermaid Teepee, I wanted to try out a Mermaid Sensory Play idea as a kick-off to a full-out Mermaid Study, which I’m hoping will create some new interests in sea life, folk lore, and …

After finding these awesome mermaid sequins, I knew I had to make Mermaid Slime!

Best ever sparkling mermaid slime - two different ways to make! This is the perfect slime for a mermaid birthday party or a Little Mermaid Movie Night!

Mermaid Slime Recipe

The mermaid slime was more teal in colour than these pictures show (I blame the Canadian winter sun), but as you can see, it was sparkly, beautiful, and inviting — what more could you ask from a sensory play material?

A good slime should not be sticky, but rather thick, stretchy, and oozy. For my kids who will get upset if the slime sticks to them a bit (it comes off very easily if you rub your hands), I just wet down their hands before they play and keep some water ready to keep their hands moist, which stops the slime from sticking.

My kids love spreading the slime out all over the table and squishing their hands in it.

And stretching the slime which is a great little work-out!

Slime is pleasantly cool to the touch and is wondrous and exciting, without being too gross or making an actual mess. The worse that we get is sometimes it sticks to the bare patches on the table where the varnish has worn off, or a bit of slime on clothing which is easily dissolved with a bit of vinegar.

Side note: Vinegar also works to remove slime from hair…

Slime can require a bit of experimentation and patience, especially if you’re still new to it. If you run into any slime fails, check out this troubleshooting post to help fix your slime.

Before we get to the recipe, I had to tell you that it’s finally here! I wrote The (Ultimate) Slime Book oozing with over 50 pages of stretchable, squishy sensory fun – including a year of seasonal slimes, edible slimes and unique ways to play with slime. Click here to get more details.

You can purchase The Slime Book on Amazon, Book Depository, or at your local bookstore!

Print Project

Step 1

Project Notes:

  • We used a total two and a half 5 oz. bottles of clear glue and one half bottle of green glitter glue to make all three colors of slime, as shown.
  • All types of Elmer’s® Glue work with this recipe.
  • Be careful when children are crafting with sequins, as the product does have a choke hazard warning on the label.
  • Protect your work surface with wax paper (or palette paper) and wear an apron (or other protective garment) to protect clothing, as the food coloring and paint may stain.

First, make three batches of your favorite clear glue slime recipe and add color to each one according to your recipe’s instructions.

TIP: Elmer’s® has some great recipes; click here to download.

Step 2

Teal Slime: To make this dark greenish-blue slime, use one half bottle of clear glue and one half bottle of green glitter glue. To get the color shown, add Sky Blue gel food coloring to the glue.

TIP: Dip a craft stick into the food coloring jar, then mix it into the glue, according to your recipe’s instructions.

Step 3

Silver Blue Slime: To make this sea-blue slime, use one full bottle of clear glue. To get the color shown, add Sky Blue gel food coloring to the glue.

Step 4

Once you have made your slime and you’re satisfied with its consistency, flatten it out on a piece of wax (or palette) paper and sprinkle on glitter and sequins. Fold the slime's edges in toward the center to blend the glitter and sequins into the slime. Continue until they are evenly distributed throughout the slime.

Step 5

Lavender Slime: To make this pale purple slime, use one full bottle of clear glue. To get the color shown, add a very small amount of Pink food coloring and Violet food coloring to the glue according to your recipe's instructions.

Step 6

Once your slime is made, repeat Step 4 to blend in chunky rainbow and small princess glitter.

Step 7

Form each slime into a long strip and lay each one next to the other on your wax (or palette) paper. Now fold and twist the slimes together until you have blended them together just the way you like.

Step 8

Be sure to store your slimes in an airtight, sealable container or re-sealable plastic bag.

MERMAID Slime Mixing Random Into Slime! Satisfying Slime Video ASMR

The woman's white-toothed smile infected those around her with optimism and warmth. She was beautiful with that sophisticated thoroughbred beauty that is characteristic of some Hollywood stars, such as Nicole Kidman, to whom Karen was. Often compared. But Karen was not a Hollywood star; she was the mother of two teenage children and the wife of a New Jersey.

Similar news:

A conveyed mixture of fierce admiration, adoration, delight. Especially he, and everyone nearby, went crazy with her smiles. But she just smiled at this macho who was walking alongside and they went in different directions, and the beauty shoved his business card into the eternal women's.
