  1. Available space is less and varies due to many factors. A standard configuration uses approximately 10GB to 12GB of space (including iOS and preinstalled apps) depending on the model and settings. Preinstalled apps use about 4GB, and you can delete these apps and restore them.
  2. Weight varies by configuration and manufacturing process.
  3. For iPod touch with Maps, the Maps application provides your approximate location using information based on your proximity to known Wi-Fi networks (when on and available). The more accurate the available information, the smaller the circle identifying your position on the map. The feature is not available in all areas. Known Wi-Fi networks are predominantly in urban areas. In order to provide your location, data is collected in a form that does not personally identify you. If you do not want such data collected, do not enable the feature. Not enabling the feature will not impact the functionality of your iPod touch.
  4. Standard Dynamic Range video content only.
  5. Siri may not be available in all languages or in all areas, and features may vary by area. Internet access required.
  6. Requires connection to power.
  7. Testing conducted by Apple in April using preproduction iPod touch (7th generation) hardware and software. The playlist consisted of unique audio tracks purchased from the iTunes Store (Kbps AAC encoding); video content was a repeated 2-hour minute movie purchased from the iTunes Store. All settings were default except: Audio was routed to wired headphones; Wi-Fi was associated with a network; the Wi-Fi feature Ask to Join Networks and Auto-Brightness were turned off. Battery tests are conducted with specific iPod units; actual results may vary. Battery life and number of charge cycles vary by use and settings. See www.apple.com/batteries for more information.
  8. Remote and mic not included.
  9. iPod and iTunes are for legal or rightholder-authorized copying only. Don’t steal music.

Some features may not be available for all countries or all areas. View complete list.

iPod Touch (7th generation)

7th version of iPod Touch by Apple Inc.

The seventh-generation iPod Touch (stylized and marketed as the iPod touch, and colloquially known as the iPod touch 7G, iPod touch 7, or iPod touch () is a multipurpose handheld device designed and marketed by Apple Inc. with a touchscreen-baseduser interface. It is the successor to the iPod Touch (6th generation), becoming the first major update to the iPod touch since [4] It was released on the online Apple Store on May 28,

Features[edit]

Software[edit]

Main articles: iOS 12, iOS 13, iOS 14, and iOS 15

Further information: iOS version history

The seventh-generation iPod touch features iOS, Apple's mobile operating system. The user interface of iOS is based on the concept of direct manipulation, using multi-touch gestures. Interface control elements consist of sliders, switches, and buttons. Interaction with the OS includes gestures such as swipe, tap, pinch, and reverse pinch, all of which have specific definitions within the context of the iOS operating system and its Multi-Touch interface. Internal accelerometers are used by some applications to respond to shaking the device (one common result is the undo command) or rotating it vertically (one common result is switching from portrait to landscape mode).

The seventh-generation iPod touch was introduced on May 28, [5] running iOS version [1] It can play music, movies, television shows, audiobooks, and podcasts and can sort its media library by songs, artists, albums, videos, playlists, genres, composers, podcasts, audiobooks, and compilations. Scrolling is achieved by swiping a finger across the screen. Alternatively, headset controls can be used to pause, play, skip, and repeat tracks. However, the EarPods that come with the seventh-generation iPod touch do not include a remote or microphone. The Voice Control feature can also be used to identify a track, play songs in a playlist or by a specific artist, or create a Genius playlist.

The Apple A10 system-on-chip in the seventh-generation iPod touch enables more advanced features than its predecessors. This includes ARKit applications, and the Group FaceTime functionality.[5][6]

Hardware[edit]

The seventh-generation iPod touch features the Apple A10 processor and M10 motion coprocessor.[3] This is the same processor used in the Apple iPhone 7 and the Apple iPad (). However, it is underclocked to GHz from GHz, making the iPod Touch weaker than the other devices with the same chip.[7][8] The seventh-generation iPod touch features the same front and rear camera systems as the sixth-generation device.[7][9] This includes an 8MP rear-facing camera, capable of recording video in p resolution 30fps,[8] and slow-motion video in p at fps. The camera also supports different photo features, such as burst photos, HDR photos, and panoramic photos. The front-facing camera is a FaceTime HD camera capable of taking photos at MP,[8] and recording video in p at 30 fps. This camera also features auto HDR for video recordings, and burst photo capabilities.[3] This device is the first iPod touch to come in a GB storage option—the highest capacity ever offered on an iPod, surpassing the GB capacity of the sixth-generation iPod Classic, which was discontinued in

Design[edit]

The exterior design of the seventh-generation iPod touch is exactly the same of its predecessor.[9] However, the typeface for the text on the back of the iPod touch has been changed to San Francisco(font).[citation needed]

Accessories[edit]

iPod Touch 7th generation: Apple just upgraded its long-forgotten music player

Apple has answered the prayers of phone-averse music fans with the new iPod Touch , which rocks a new processor and offers plenty of storage.

It might have been four years since the last iPod was released, but Apple has refreshed the era-defining music player with new specifications. Here&#;s everything we know so far, including the release date, specifications, features, colours, and camera information. Is this the right music player for you?

iPod Touch release date: When is the iPod Touch out?

The latest iPod Touch was announced on May 28 and is immediately available to buy from the Apple Store.

It&#;s only the first announcement of many that we expect around this time, as Apple&#;s WWDC conference kicks off on June 3. Plenty of announcements are expected for the tech event, including the launch of iOS 13, so remember to check our website for all the latest updates.

iPod Touch price: How much does the iPod Touch cost?

The new iPod Touch has a tempting base price of £ ($), making it by far Apple&#;s most affordable iOS device. However, that price does rapidly increases as you opt for more storage:

  • 32GB: £ ($)
  • GB: £ ($)
  • GB: £ ($)

iPod Touch colours

The iPod Touch as more or less the same design as the previous model, with the familiar home button, and thick bezels above and below the screen. It is available in six different colours:

  • Space Grey
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Blue
  • Pink
  • Product(RED)

iPod Touch specs

As expected, the iPod Touch is a significant upgrade on its 4-year-old predecessor

  • Processor: It runs on the A10 Fusion processor which is found in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Apple claim this will give you 2x the speed and 3x better graphics compared to the 6th generation iPod Touch.
  • Storage: it&#;s available in three storage options: 32GB, GB, and GB (the largest-ever capacity for an iPod Touch)
  • Size: the device measures mm by mm by mm, and weighs 88 grams.
  • Screen: The screen clocks in at 4 inches diagonally, and has a x resolution.
  • Headphone Jack: It will fortunately retain the mm headphone jack, which goes against the grain of modern mobile devices reliant on a Bluetooth or Lightning connection for audio.
