7000+ Lives Saved Since 2002

Paw Placement is a non-profit 501(c)(3), no-kill organization. Our mission is to reduce the euthanasia of homeless cats and dogs in Scottsdale and nearby cities. Our focus is on adoption and education about responsible pet guardianship.

Our cats are all in loving foster homes or at our adoption center at the PetSmart in Scottsdale near the intersection of 90th & Shea. We save as many cats and kittens as our fosters and volunteers can handle, from mothers with litters of energetic kittens to senior cats who are just looking for a forever home to retire. We know all of their personalities very well and work diligently to ensure we find the purrfect forever home for each one.

Adopt a Cat or Dog from PawPlacement

Paw Placement is an all-breed rescue, which means that we save everything from Pitbulls to Papillons! Our dogs are all in loving foster homes, we don't have a boarding facility. You can rest assured that every one of them is safe and loved until we find the perfect forever home. We know our pups very well, and we do everything we can to make sure they go to a home that is correctly equipped to handle the unique needs of each particular dog.

Would you like to cuddle with kittens or party with puppies? We can help! We are always looking for new volunteers and fosters. Adoption event volunteers help by watching over and cleaning up after our animals during adoption events. Kitty caretakers look after the kitties and give them love during non-event hours. If you love cuddles and don't mind cleaning up a mess or two, sign up! Dog & Cat fosters are the selfless volunteers who do the initial life-saving by bringing homeless pets into their own homes and teaching them to love and trust people. It is challenging, but incredibly fulfilling.

Donate to PawPlacementWe charge an adoption fee, but those fees don't come close to covering our veterinarian, food, and supply bills. We rely on people like you to help us continue our mission to provide safe and loving homes to as many homeless pets as possible. We appreciate every donation, whether it be monetary, pet food, pet supplies, cleaning supplies, towels, or blankets. We accept monetary donations online through our website or Facebook page. We also accept donations during any of our adoption events.

Our Adoptive Difference:

We work with adopters to find their perfect animal matches and conduct only quality adoptions that best fit the needs of the animals and people.

Support Adoption and Rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why Should You Adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
