LSX Blackout Nitrous System

The LSX Nitrous System is specifically tuned for GM’s LSX engines (LS1, -2, -3, -6, -7, L-99, Gen III & Gen IV). These engines use higher fuel pressures (58 psi) and have noticeable power increases when custom jetted. In addition to optimized jet tuning, this kit also includes an extra long 18 ft. nitrous feed line from the bottle. This is nearly 2 feet longer than most universal kits, but it gives you the extra length needed for installing the nitrous bottle deep in an F-body chassis trunk. Adjustable from 75 to 175 horsepower, ZEX™ electronics use the vehicle’s TPS sensor to activate the nitrous system only at wide open throttle for optimum power and engine safety.

One of our nitrous systems most innovative safety and power feature is the "Active Fuel Control". The ZEX™ Nitrous System reads the nitrous bottle pressure and adjusts the fuel enrichment accordingly. If it is a cool day and the nitrous bottle pressure is around the 700 psi range, the nitrous system will add less enrichment fuel than if it is a warm day and the nitrous bottle is at 950 psi. These devices were very difficult to install and were constantly failing because of the extreme temperatures found in vehicle engine bays. ZEX™ integrated advanced microprocessor control circuits into our nitrous systems so that they "learn" the voltage curve of an engines throttle position sensor. This enables our nitrous systems to activate at wide-open throttle, precisely and reliably, every time.

From drag racing to standing-mile speed runs to wild, hopped-up street cars, the team at Late Model Engines in Houston, Texas builds some of the most powerful GM LS engines in the world, and not only do they have plenty of grunt on the inside, but their bullets look like pieces of mechanical art on the soutside, as well.

One such powerplant recently churned out by the Late Model Engines team that caught our attention is a piece destined for X275 doorslammer racing, and if the spec list is any indication, it should make plenty of noise (no pun intended) wherever it races.

Built for customer Carlos Cancino, the engine you see here in all its polished and billet glory is a 440 cubic inch LSX, beginning with a GM Performance Parts LSX Tall Deck block that the LME staff has performed their solid deck machine work to, also adding 1/2-inch head studs before assembly. Built with what the team says is “the best of the best,” you’ll find a Bryant crankshaft, Dyres piston rods, and Diamond pistons forming the basis for the short block. The engine is topped with GM’s stout LSX-DR aluminum cylinder heads, with a Holley EFI system controlling the fueling. As you can see, LME has fitted the heads with their own billet aluminum valve covers that make the whole package look like a million bucks.

Cancino has opted for a nitrous oxide combination, and as such, you’ll find a complete, two-kit Induction Solutions nozzle setup plumbed into the intake to create the 1,00-plus horsepower that will be needed to run in the tough X275 class.

Flow Up To 400HP. This system comes out of the box with everything you need to spray 200HP, but can spray up to 400HP with additional jetting.
