LEGO Ideas has never been so popular with so many projects in the pipeline. With a total of 8 projects in various stages of being developed or being prepped for final launch dates, it’s almost hard to keep track and remember them all. We list the projects here as a refresher of what’s to come to be a reality and an official LEGO set.

The Legendary Stratocaster (Music to our ear Ideas contest)
Fan Designer: Tomáš Letenay aka TOMOELL
This LEGO Ideas project isn’t the standard fan-voted approach as showcased for the other 7 submissions above. This design was submitted under the “Music To My Ears” LEGO Ideas contents which is a themed build contest. The contents had two separate potential winning paths – fan votes, and direct decisions from the Product Idea Review process.
While fans got to vote for their favourites, the results of it being a LEGO Ideas set had nothing to do with the selection process from fans, nor was there any obligation for LEGO to use the winning entry. The fan-voted designs won gift prizes, and The Legendary Stratocaster entry came in at 7th place with 9 designs in total. The LEGO Ideas team was more impressed by this and shortlisted this as a LEGO Ideas set for review and eventually selected.
There you have it, the current list of LEGO Ideas approved projects. While they all may not be your favourites, the LEGO Ideas designs and selections may not always target the typical LEGO fan and are meant to cast a wider audience that hasn’t been exposed to building LEGO in a while or at all. If you do have a few that you’re eyeing, tell us about them in the comments below.

The LEGO Ideas First 2021 Review Stage Results announcement is almost here!

Update: The results announcement has been postponed to tomorrow, 15 October 2021! There’s also a giveaway you can join.
LEGO Ideas have announced that the results of the 57 (!) LEGO Ideas Projects from the first 2021 LEGO Review Results will be announced later today.
It’s the biggest LEGO Ideas round yet (which closed in May) and naturally, with so many successful projects, I think
You can check out all 57 individual Ideas project submissions on the LEGO Ideas Blog!
Time for some quick predictions – I think we’ll get 2 successful Ideas, and 2 that still require reviews.
My favourites that I think will likely get passed:
I adamantly still believe that LEGO will do an Animal Crossing set, so my money is on Tiago Catarino’s model making it through this round. Animal Crossing has done a lot of licensing, and the timing of the LEGO Ideas announcement lines up very nicely with a New Horizons Direct coming up.
I think Animal Crossing would make for a fantastic LEGO theme – read my editorial to see all the reasons why LEGO Animal Crossing makes perfect sense.

That said, I think I also wouldn’t be surprised if Tutankhamun by Swan Dutchman passes as it’s a terrific model, and has tremendous educational value.

The Office by SoGenius106 / The Office by Lego The Office and The X-Files: I Want To Believe by BrentWaller will be under review, but I can absolutely see LEGO adding the popular sitcom to their slate of “Pop Culture/TV Sitcom” Apartments theme.
The Office does a heap of licensing, and LEGO has an existing relationship with Universal to leverage, and is also exceptionally popular with women, so it would be really silly for LEGO to not take it on as a project as it’ll sell like absolute hotcakes.
Which projects do you think will pass this review round and become a LEGO Ideas sets?

Results lego ideas
Way back in May, LEGO Ideas logged in a record 57 product ideas for the First 2021 Review Stage. A mind-blowing ensemble of original and licensed-IP builds vied for a chance to become an official LEGO set. That’s past tense because the actual review period ended this past weekend, after a few brief postponements. To start off with the results, only three of the 57 submissions survived review. In fact one of them is just a technical passer. Without further ado let’s find out which are the lucky product ideas.
This submission placed runner-up in the “Music to Our Ears” LEGO Ideas contest. If you like Jazz music and don’t mind a static display, Jazz Quartet is an Ideas set to wait for.
Aka the “if at first you don’t succeed” product idea. Jaijai Lewis really wanted a LEGO set based on “The Office.” Twice his work made a Review Stage; twice it ended there. Not anymore; the third time’s the charm. And the Ideas review crew got the hint. The set depicts the US-produced show on NBC however, not the original UK version on BBC.
This Disney-based product idea is a second-timer for the Ideas Review Stages. Unfortunately the reviewers continue to have issues with the submission and have placed it under further review. In other words, the last say on whether the Snow White build passes will wait until Second 2021 Review results.
All in all, the Review Stage netted some nice results. We’ve got new LEGO Ideas to look forward to in the future. We also wish “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” the best to ace its “further review.”

As the second review period of 2021 has just closed, the LEGO Ideas team confirms that 34 projects successfully gathered 10,000 votes each and are now qualified for the review stage. As usual, there’s plenty of buildings (both urban and rural) in the pool, as well as space-themed creations and scenes based on TV shows and movies. It’s hard to predict the review result just yet, but we are thrilled to see how some of the more unusual projects will perform.
Meanwhile, the results of the 2021 first review are coming soon. We can’t wait to learn which of the 57 projects will be turned into official LEGO Ideas sets next.
