Personalization

Personalize items with your name or logo. Personalizations are flat embroidery and are text-based. Can be used on apparel, headwear, and accessories like bags and totes.

Monograms

We specialize in 3-letter monogramming. The most common use is for personalizaing a variety of apparel, in which the individual's last name is the center and most prominent letter.

Tackle Twill.jpg
Tackle Twill

This labor-intensive process involves cutting, sewing and heat-applying Twill material onto a garment. Commonly used on sweatshirts and jerseys.

Puff / 3D

Puff or 3D embroidery uses a foam underlaying to raise the logo from the garment, creating a 3D appearance. It is most commonly used on hats.

Lily is an awesome teacher. She has a great sense of humor, which really helps when I’m feeling frustrated with myself. I’m really slow and she’s incredibly patient. She’s very flexible too. I’m thoroughly enjoying my classes. I’ve been taking classes for about 11 weeks. It’s wonderful to have a total break from the world for an hour every week, and it helps to have homework too. I highly recommend Lily.

This is not a machine embroidery class. Get ready to move beyond the basic cross stitch (by hand). Let me coach you on specialty stitches such as satin, queen, eyelets, Rhodes, French knots and more. Let me repeat, this will not be a machine embroidery class, every stitch will be made by hand!

I've been cross stitching since 1983 and teaching it for over 10 years. Within the first few lessons, you'll learn how to organize your material for easier sewing, master basic stitches, and as time goes on you'll be able to tackle complicated stitches and designs. I specialize in counted cross stitch, but also have experience with redwork, drawnwork, Bargello, pulled thread, hardanger, and canvaswork. Typically, I use The Cross Stitcher's Bible by Jane Greenoff but can recommend other helpful resources. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

Dawn is an awesome knitting teacher. She is patient, friendly, communicates well with my teenaged daughter. My daughter really enjoyed each lesson and learned a lot. Even though this is an online lesson, it really doesn't affect Dawn's teaching quality. I highly recommend Dawn to whoever is interested in learning how to knit.

      Cheryl

I have been taking quilting lessons from Dawn for many months now and I have found her to be a kind, patient and compassionate teacher. She is so helpful between lessons with questions and has videos to help. Being an older student with medical issues comes with challenges but she faces them with grace and compassion.

Which Embroidery Fill Stitch is Best?

Embroidery is a form of art that is thousands of years old. Patterns, symbols, and images have been embroidered in every kind of cloth almost since the beginning. Evidence of embroidery, in fact, can be traced back to 30,000 BC when fossilized remains of hand-stitched clothing were found. Embroidery and cave paintings were the first known art forms that we have an archaeological record of.

        BRIEF HISTORY OF EMBROIDERY

Born out of necessity, embroidery quickly became an elaborate affair. While it originated in China and the Near East, the term is a French word, and the most famous embroidery pieces are from the Medieval Ages of Europe. From the Bayeus tapestry that depicts the Norman conquest of England (and changed the course of Europe forever) to the Unicorn tapestries embroidered at the end of the fifteenth century, embroidery items can be elaborate and beautiful to behold.
